Characterized by a refreshing grassy aroma with a well-balanced flavor that’s between mild bitterness and umami, this Matcha goes great with all kinds of confectionery. It’s also one of the best-known of all Marukyu Koyamaen’s Matcha products.
Marukyu Koyamaen Yugen (又玄)
Best enjoyed as usucha (thin tea) to appreciate its delicate balance and aroma. Whisk 2g of matcha with 60–70ml of water at around 70–80°C until a fine foam forms.
Yugen can also be used for carefully prepared matcha beverages, allowing its refined flavor to shine while keeping the authentic character of the tea.
